Who we are and what this policy covers
CityEngine.pro is published by SurfLocal Media LLC. This policy covers the public homepage, city directory, interactive map, supporting information pages, and email contact options described below. Questions can be sent to david@surflocalmedia.com.
Client, editor, and network-control workspaces, as well as individual city and business websites, provide separate services and may involve additional information practices. Refer to the information supplied for that service, or identify the relevant account or website when contacting us about it.
Browsing and directory information
Our hosting environment may record ordinary request information, including an IP address, requested page or resource, request time, browser information, and security events. These records support website operation, troubleshooting, and protection against misuse.
The directory can request public market information from CityEngine to refresh destinations and launch status. This request does not include email-draft text. The website’s logo, styles, scripts, and map software are served by CityEngine. These public-page features do not create account sessions or use advertising or analytics cookies.
Interactive map and OpenStreetMap
The interactive map uses map images supplied by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. It normally loads when the map section comes into view. A Load map or retry button may also be available. When the map loads, your browser connects directly to OpenStreetMap’s tile service.
These requests provide OpenStreetMap and its delivery providers with technical information such as your IP address, browser details, referring site, request time, and the map images needed for the area you view. Requests may be handled by servers in different countries. Panning or zooming can request additional images.
OpenStreetMap Foundation handles this information independently under its own privacy policy. CityEngine does not receive access to its visitor request records. Market listings also remain available as text and links when the map cannot display.
Email inquiries and the draft helper
The contact page provides direct email links and a helper for preparing a message in your browser. Preparing a draft does not send it to CityEngine, create a ticket, or save it in a website inbox.
Choose Open email app to review the draft in your selected email application, then send it from there. Your email provider handles that transmission. CityEngine receives the message when you send it and it is delivered.
Received correspondence can include your name, email address, business or city domain, selected topic, message, and other details you choose to provide. We use it to answer your inquiry, discuss requested services, assist clients, investigate reported problems, and keep relevant communication records. There is no marketing-subscription step in this contact helper.
Who handles information
Hosting services handle website requests; email services handle the delivery and storage of correspondence. People assisting with an inquiry may receive the information needed to address it. OpenStreetMap’s independent processing is described above.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to meet a legal obligation, respond to a lawful request, protect rights or safety, or investigate misuse. An email inquiry is not automatically published as website content. Uses of material for a later project should be addressed in that project’s service arrangement.
Retention and requests
We may retain correspondence and related records for as long as reasonably needed to respond, provide an agreed service, maintain relevant business records, resolve a dispute, or meet a legal obligation. The period depends on the information and its purpose. Copies may remain in email systems, logs, and backups; removing public content or archiving a record does not necessarily delete every associated copy.
Email david@surflocalmedia.com to ask about your information or request a correction or deletion. Identify the relevant communication, account, or website and describe the request. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify it and protect other people’s information. Rights, exceptions, and response requirements depend on applicable law and the circumstances. To request further review of a response, reply to the same address.
Other websites and policy updates
Following a city, business, account, or outside-service link takes you to that destination. Its operator, functions, and information practices may differ; review the information there before providing details.
We may update this policy when the public website or its contact process changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Additional notice will be provided when required by applicable law.
